About

Mission

Discover Queer helps queer women (cis and trans inclusive!) and gender expansive travelers explore the world with confidence, safety and ease. We design travel experiences that incorporate LGBTQ+ culture, community and identity - whether through personalized trip planning or group adventures.

When you travel with Discover Queer, your tourism dollars economically empower the queer organizers and businesses that make a destination more welcoming.

Meet our founder

Grace Philipp, CEO of Discover Queer

Hi! I’m Grace. Everywhere I travel, I’m on the lookout for queer spaces—where are the shops, the restaurants, the bars, the events where queer people can be themselves? If you’re someone who spots a cool queer couple on the street and immediately wonders where they’re headed, you’re in the right place.

I’m a lifelong New Yorker with a deep love for city life—but my curiosity about the world has taken me far beyond it. Growing up, I was fascinated by language and culture, inspired by my Chilean grandfather, Italian grandmother and my determination to learn languages. That passion took me across six continents, from working at a travel agency in Seville organizing group trips across Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, to spending months in Colombia, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, and India working on public health and economic development initiatives. Along the way, I seek out queer spaces and connections, always searching for where our community thrives.

Before launching Discover Queer, I earned degrees in International Public Health and Public Affairs at Columbia University, where I focused on global development and community resilience. I also spent a decade between NYC government and corporate America leading social responsibility initiatives. In all of these places, I organized spaces where LGBTQ+ professionals could connect, grow, and thrive.

Now, I’m bringing all of that experience—global travel expertise, cultural competencies, and a deep love for queer community—to Discover Queer. Whether you’re looking for a custom travel itinerary, a group trip, or just inspiration for your next adventure, I’m here to help you find your people—wherever in the world they may be.
